The 2020 Session Has Begun!
The 2020 Session Has Begun!

We began the session with a historic unanimous vote to elect Delegate Adrienne Jones as Speaker of the House. Speaker Jones is the first woman, and the first African American, to be elected Speaker in the history of 441 legislative sessions in Maryland. This was a moment I shall not soon forget.
This session I continue as a member of the Economic Mat

Fantastic Howard County League of Women Voters Brunch
Fantastic League of Women Voters brunch today where the county’s state delegation was able to discuss legislation we will be working on in the 2020 session. The League is an important institution in our democracy and I have long appreciated the active chapter in Howard County that my mother was part of from before I was born! #MDGA2020 #Working4MD #HowardCounty #CourtneyWatson #Maryland #hocomd #MDGA2020 #Working4MD

Remembering Victims of Domestic Violence in Annapolis
A sad and painful ceremony in Annapolis this evening to remember the 46 Marylanders who lost their lives to domestic violence. 67% of these deaths were due to guns and 35 children were left behind. One of the 46 was WLHS teacher Laura Wallen. Thank you Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence for helping us create better laws to protect victims and making sure these lost souls are remembered. #DVMemorial2019 #ItHappensHere #hocomd #mdga19 #MDPolitics #CourtneyWatson #workin
