We Did It - Thank You!

We did it! Tuesday night's win with 67% of the vote was the culmination of many months of hard work. Together we ran a true grassroots campaign - the best I have ever seen. I am so grateful for your support and I will work hard as your Democrat nominee for State Delegate District 9B. I thank my opponent Dan Medinger who ran a good race and pushed me to do my best. Dan has been a stalwart of the Democratic Party in Howard County. I applaud his service and I look forward to working with him on issues that support our Democratic ideals as we move ahead to November. Thank you to my tenacious and hardworking volunteers! Your energy and positive outlook kept me moving forward each day of this ca

Breaking: Sun Endorses Courtney Watson for 9B!

The Baltimore Sun endorsed Courtney Watson for State Delegate 9B, and the editors wrote this glowing tribute to Courtney: "In District 9B, two Democrats are seeking the chance to challenge Republican Del. Robert Flanagan: publisher Dan Medinger and insurance broker and former county councilwoman Courtney Watson. Having to choose between Ms. Watson and Mr. Kittleman in the 2014 county executive’s race was one of the most painful decisions we’ve faced, and we’re delighted to see her on the ballot again. She’s smart, dedicated and deeply rooted in Howard County. The former chairwoman of the county Board of Education, she would have keen insight into the education reform legislation that will be

We Must Elect People Who We Know Will Fight for Our Values

Friends, Under the current Administration, women's rights are under attack - be it women's healthcare, civil rights, equal pay, violence toward women or reproductive rights. And we must elect people who we know will fight for our values. I am one of them. I have fought hard for women's rights my entire career in public service, including: Providing Howard County funding to continue women’s health planning when there was a cut in state funding to the Health Department; Helping to create the "Healthy Howard" program that helped cover uninsured county residents; Convening a human trafficking workgroup that resulted in legislation to break down governmental silos and provide tools to help women

An Important Message from Courtney

Friends, Early voting is underway and Primary Election Day is next Tuesday, June 26, from 7 am-8 pm. This is an important vote for our community, and I am heartened by how many voters I have already seen at the polls. I hope to see you there, too. I very much appreciate your support of my candidacy these last few weeks and months and especially in the past few days. The work I have done the last two decades on behalf of our neighborhoods could not have been done without your help during long election years. Many have contacted me about a mailer they recently received that was mean spirited, and more importantly, full of falsehoods. I am disappointed beyond measure at this negative

Every Single Vote Matters

Early voting starts Thursday 6/14 and extends through Thursday 6/21 from 10am to 8pm at Miller Library. Election day is 6/26. We've knocked on doors for 10 months and contacted our voters 4 separate times. It can come down to just 1 vote. Every single vote matters. Will you help us get people to turn out and vote in Ellicott City? I am passionate about working together with everyone to solve the challenges we face, such as improving education, ensuring health care (including mental health care), making progress on our precious environment, helping seniors age in place, investing in addiction recovery programs, and keeping the economy strong. I am humbled to have the support of the following
