Wherever Courtney goes in her political life I will be right there by her cheering her on. She did so much for Elkridge when she was our county council member. In the past month we have celebrated the opening of a new library and a new fire station. She got the ball rolling on those and was a champion for all of us here in Elkridge. I also love Courtney becasue she exemplifies shine theory, lifting up, supporting and helping other women who want to participate in the civic life of this county. I wholeheartedly endorse her for the House of Delegates in Annapolis. She has walked the walk and I know she will represent her constituents well. - Deeba Jafri
"As a woman who has spent my career advocating for women's rights, it is my pleasure to endorse Courtney on International Women's Day. I've never met someone who works harder than Courtney. She's a champion for all, and a special advocate for women. Before we became good friends I admired her work on the Howard County School Board and on the County Council. As a longtime women's advocate in Annapolis I can say without hesitation that Courtney's ideas, work ethic, and commitment to community will make her a great addition to the Maryland House of Delegates, serving District 9B." - Wendy Royalty, M.S.W., Former VP, Planned Parenthood of MD and Former Board Chair, NARAL Pro-Choice MD
"Ms. Courtney is one of the most inspiring women I have ever met. She is so kind and such an inspiration to young women like me. When I was at the 2018 Women's March in Baltimore I got to talk to her and have a conversation about women's issues. She was so understanding and did not talk down to me. She made me feel very respected - my opinion really mattered to her. I have known Ms. Courtney since I was little and every day I strive to be as determined and intelligent as she is. I really trust her and I know will do a lot to help Maryland." - Bryn Schwartz
Honored to have the endorsement of Herman Charity, a major contributor to justice in Howard County: "Courtney has proven herself a strong advocate for the community. She has demonstrated a healthy independence from political parties and works to bring all sides together to come up with creative solutions to problems. In my roles as youth coach, retired Howard County Police Lieutenant, and former County Executive Robey's chief aide, I have watched her in action and watched her get things done, and know she is the right choice in 2018 for State Delegate District 9B."
- Herman Charity
Howard County's First African-American Police Officer
"I support Courtney because of her commitment to the community and her genuine concern for people. Courtney worked with me and others to bring more attention to the issue of human trafficking in Howard County. She passed a resolution to create a task force that made several key recommendations that have now been implemented to help agencies work together on the issue. Courtney works for all of us, all of the time." - Tahira Hussain
"Courtney is someone who gets things done for the community. Her experience on the school board and in local government as a councilwoman will serve her well in looking out for our interests in Annapolis. She is a woman of action, who we can always count on, and that's why I am supporting her for Delegate in District 9B." - Bessie Bordenave
"Courtney is a smart, strong, thoughtful, energetic, inclusive, and effective leader in our community. As a member of the Howard County School Board and County Councilperson, Courtney has put years of experience to work in solving problems with a proven, practical, bi-partisan approach. She is ready to take action and forge a path of progress for our County and our State. I fully support my friend Courtney for MD State Delegate representing District 9B." - Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz
"When Courtney Watson was on the county council she had a lot of friends but she never forget about me as a second language person. She stopped in and saw me often and she listened to me so that she understood problems and then helped solved them. We love her. She listens, then acts, and we need her to be our state delegate in Annapolis so she can do more for us." - Mi Schill Kim
"I've been heavily involved in Democratic politics in Howard County for 56 years. It is with that experience that I have chosen to endorse Courtney Watson for the Delegate 9B race. I've watched Courtney and her work in public service for over a decade. I believe because of her long and successful tenure serving our community that she is the only person in the race that will be able to unseat the strong Republican incumbent."
- Ted Stevens
"I have known Courtney for a long time. I knew her Mom, and I know her Dad, Ed Cochran, who is also a wonderful public servant. I watched Courtney on our school board and I was very impressed when she brought Dr. Sydney Cousin back as the Superintendent for HCPSS.
Her efforts on the County Council were equally strong and effective. In this election, I am going for experience and results. I know she will deliver for Howard County, again." - Carole Fisher
"I am supporting Courtney Watson for House of Delegates because she has the experience, dedication, and know-how to build coalitions and get things done in Annapolis. From President Trump to the talking heads on television, political experience has been maligned as something we should avoid in our elected officials. As a result, we've had the great misfortune of seeing what happens when inexperienced people get put in positions of responsibility. If we want change, we need someone who has experience creating it. If we want women's rights to be protected, we need a woman leader who knows what's at stake. If we want a better Ellicott City, we need someone who has already been in the ring fighting for us. I support Courtney because she is a powerhouse for change; not just in what she says, but in what she has already done." - Tom Coale
I have known Courtney for nearly 20 years with the majority of those years in her role as a public servant. Courtney evaluates community problems from an analytical perspective, using data and facts to develop her positions. Courtney is an excellent listener and willing to work with others to co-create an innovative solution that solves issues in her community. As a member of the Board of Education, she listened to my unique comprehensive shared use solution that proposed an elementary school on the north side of Montgomery Road. Several public servants ignored my request for a meeting and Courtney heard my plan as well shared insights which made the solution even stronger. This grassroots citizen idea became Veterans Elementary School and opened to 98 children in 2007. - Wendy Moomaw
"I’ve worked with Courtney for a number of years and find her to be a tireless advocate for the people of Howard County. Given the various leadership roles she’s played in Howard County she can make sound decisions because she understands them in a context." - Sabina Taj
Courtney is a true public servant. She listens, is thoughtful, and advocates for her constituents in real and concrete ways. One of the things I have loved watching this year is how she has been mentoring and supporting new candidates and women entering politics for the first time. As a mom, a lifelong educator, a long-time resident of Howard County, and an advocate for women’s rights and diversity, I want Courtney in Annapolis representing the issues that matter to me. She has my full endorsement.
